Hitchcock Happy

Have you missed me? Yes, the month of March completely got away from me. Thought I’d swoop in though with this little gem from master filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock.

I love what he says here and I totally agree with him.

Enjoy.

Everything’s Amazing – Happy New Year!

Here’s a quick and wonderful piece of advice from comedian Louis CK. Enjoy the New Year’s and remember his words as you plan your life for the coming year… I know I will.

Be safe and prosper!

Keith Of The Day

This is the cutest thing ever— So one of my followers on twitter only posts tweets about people named Keith! She started following me and then she recently selected me as the KotD!

How cute is that?

Thanks a bunch for the honor @KeithTweets

Yep, right now, everything feels just like this…

Well.

If you wonder about me at all then you’re probably wondering what the hell has been going on over here…

“he don’t call, he don’t write…”

No posts? (save the occasional AdsIlike) No pics? No soaring overtures about indie film? No grand site refurbishments?!?

Nothing – nada. Why? Cause I’ve been in a wee hole… working.

Yep. Been working on you know what, and also on this (for a dear friend), oh and these kind folks over here take up a ton of my time too when I’m not paying attention (i love ‘em).

If you really wanna know what life feels like right now then take another gander at the lovely photo above.

I’m teetering but my master plan is going exactly according to my master plan… (i think) – Basically, I’m living the dream!!! (#yepsarcasm #forgivemeimtired) – I’m getting close though… (insert mounting glee here)

If you really really miss me – I post a few quickems over here and here.

And of course I’d never miss a moment to plug this page here. But never really this page.

So. There you go, mazel tov.

(and yes mama… i’m gonna call you soon. I promise.)

I Can’t Make You Love Me / Nick of Time

You may ask be saying to yourself: “Keith, why is this bearded brother here? And why is he covering the uncoverable Bonnie Raitt?”

His name is Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. And well he’s here because he’s my current musical (and storytelling) hero. Amazing voice. Lyrics that plumb the soul. Musicality that wants for nothing.

If you don’t believe me then check out the video below:

King’s “Table of Brotherhood”

This Ad gave me goosebumps.

Maybe I’m just a believer… or maybe I’m happy the nation’s capitol is finally recognizing the work of a great man and a brother of mine.

Either way, Dr. King’s memorial is long overdue and his soaring words still fill me with hope and I remain humbled by what he (and of course the people along with him) accomplished in this life.

Update: A Dream Fulfilled, Martin Luther King Memorial Opens – NYTimes.com

Added A New Shared Page

shared_grab

I recently updated the site and added a Shared Page. I wanted a place to consolidate what I’m reading, watching, posting and for my “on-the-go” pics.

Take a look and maybe you’ll find something there worth reading or maybe useful…

By the way, if you run wordpress on your site (as I do) and also use Instagram then take a look at a new plugin called Instapress. It’s really easy to set-up and highly customizable. I’m running it as a gallery on the sidebar here and also on a few pages.

Oh and let me know what you think of the new page

To LA or not to LA

It’s so hard not to dream of moving there… sooner than later.

Vacay

Cause I know you were wondering… the short time off was splendid. I enjoyed the mosquitoes beach, ocean and sun tremendously.

I highly recommend it.

“All work and no play will make you… just mad.
Really really mad.
So go play.”

I did.

And now it’s back to work…

Off the Grid – Write Down the Bones

beachwriting

I’m heading off for a few days (ok, several days) on a writing retreat.

I have about a week before I head back to Utah again and the Sundance Institute Composers Lab and then the Producers Summit. So I’m gonna head off and work on a rewrite of the script.

Before I leave I wanted to offer something to you. While I was at the Labs I participated in a really amazing writing workshop with writer/director/actor/producer Joan Tewkesbury.

Don’t Be Cynical

“Don’t be Cynical” – that’s my favorite line.
